J.D. Crowe and the New South appeared at the Waterford Campus of Oakland Community College on May 14, 2010. On stage that evening: J.D. Crowe, Dwight McCall, Ricky Wasson, Matt DeSpain and Kyle Perkins. Unfortunately, OCC has canceled all performing arts for next year and beyond due to budget constraints. Tom and Barb have worked to keep the Bluegrass series going for fifteen years; Velma Jones of Oakland Community College honored Tom and Barb Laing before the performance.
